Since this is our very first blog post, we thought we would start by telling you a little bit about ourselves.
We are a group of teachers who have experience teaching bilinguals in various settings around the globe. Some of us have experience in bilingual programs, while others have experience in dual-language or immersion settings. Some of us have taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in the United States, while others have taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) abroad.
Despite our varying instructional approaches, we have many things in common. Let's start with the obvious...We all teach bilingual students. Some of us have the privilege to teach trilingual students too.We are a group of teachers who have experience teaching bilinguals in various settings around the globe. - Our students are at the heart of all our work, and we learn from them just as they learn from us.
- We love languages and cultures, and we love trying new things.
- We see bilingualism and biculturalism as an asset, not a deficit.
- We are creative problem solvers, and work in collaboration.
