Gladys Gonzalez Task Cards

I love task cards! They are easy to prepare, easy to store and easy for the students to use. They can be used with the whole class or with small groups, in centers or literacy stations  and with individual students. They  are good tools to review a skill or concept, for additional practice , for early finishers and even for assessment. They can help with differentiation.

Today I will share a sample of  task cards  that can be used for writing.
These are simple cards, they only include a graphic that serves as a prompt.
They can be used to  write a sentence or a paragraph.

They offer another writing option at the writing center and are especially helpful for those students who struggle with finding topics for their writing.

Hope your students love them. Happy writing!

The End of School Awards Brinca into Bilingual

Hello everyone! It is great to be back to this amazing collaborative group :)

It is that time of year when you start thinking what kind of awards your students will achieve and preparing them. I am here to show you a couple of my Samples that I have in my store for you!

The first I have is on the preview of the product, so you will see the cost of the product and won't see the free sample by itself.
All you have to do it's download preview and you will find 3 free awards: Smile (boy version, the girl version is in the paid product), hard worker, and perfect attendance. ALL AWARDS COME IN COLOR AND B/W VERSION. You will also be able to see the other awards that are included in the paid product :)
Would you like to download this sample? Just click HERE or click on the picture below:

The second Sample I wanted to include because this Sample is editable; all you need is Google Docs and Power Point. I have included instructions when you click on the editable section. Editable means you can type your name and the student's name. Please be aware that "editable" means typing names only, I can't make the titles or the clipart editable due to illustrators copyright. Just in case you forget, I have included that information on the product :) This product has a Jungle theme, so most of all (if not all) has jungle illustrations :) I have this product sample available in both ENGLISH and SPANISH

If you would like the paid product, please go to the sample and click on the link that I provided under the information section.

Thank you everyone for stopping by to our blog today, we hope you come visit us again soon!!

End of the Year Memory Book - Mr. & Mrs Brightside

Hello everyone! We are Linda & Eric from Mr & Mrs Brightside and we’re so excited to do our first Show-N-Tell today (and 1st blog entry too!).

What a better way to end the year than with a memory book for your kiddos! We wanted to create a keepsake for our students that would allow them to remember and record all their memories from the current school year.

This memory book will encourage your kiddos to write about their experiences using open-ended questions that gives students the freedom to express their ideas creatively.

The memory book comes in black & white so that your students can color and decorate as they choose to.

I chose to give my students the memory book already stapled with all the pages, but you could give them out one at a time over the last couple of weeks of school. Then you could take the finished memory pages and combine them to make a memory book.

My kiddos had tons of fun picking and choosing which photographs to include in their memory books.
** Quick tip: I chose to print a couple of photos that I had taken of them during the school year at several events and distributed them to my students. I spent about $10 for 100 pictures, not bad once I saw how grateful my kiddos were when they got their pictures!

On the last week of school, I choose a day for my students to go and get autographs from grade level students, teachers, and school staff.

I know your students are sure to have fun creating this memory book that they will remember throughout the years to come !!!!

If you're interested in purchasing this memory book, click this link or check out our store! All memory books are available in English and Spanish (separately) for 2nd - 5th grades.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! We hope you have an awesome end to your school year :)

Figuras Literarias con Kelly Serrano

Teaching figurative language is not only fun but easy with my Figurative Language  Interactive Journal. The sample below is just a small part of the entire unit you may purchase via TpT (Teachers Pay Teachers).

The sample includes a detailed lesson plan on Similes. The best part? The entire resource is written in Spanish. I have also included photos of what the journal looks like and suggestions for use.

After all, teaching figurative language is a piece of cake (get it?).

Abrazos,
Kelly Serrano
