I've always been a huge fan of hands-on learning. Through my teaching experience, I've found that when my students physically interact with activities, they are much more engaged and have higher retention rates of the concepts or strategies that I'm teaching. Today I want to show you a holiday treat activity that I love using with students during the cold winter months. During this activity students first interview their classmates. You can complete this part either in small groups, or have students go around and ask a set number of friends (we recommend 10) about their favorite holiday treat. Then they tally the answers on the survey sheet and color the results on the graph. It's super simple, and it's a great way to get kids moving around and interacting with one another while practicing data collection and graphing skills.

What an engaging activity for students. What a fun way to learn and practice gathering and organizing data. Thanks for sharing a free resource.
