Hi all! I
am currently teaching 2nd grade in a 50/50 dual immersion classroom.
I use the Sílabas musicales with a
small group of 4 students who are at the beginning stages of writing and are still
learning some of their letter sounds.
These
students go on the computer 2-3 times a week and they play the entire mp3 tracks
(with and without the syllable sounds) while they view the sílabas on the screen.
| Students listening to the Sílabas musicales. They click as as they listen. |
| This student is listening to the Sílabas musicales mp3 track, but using the big sheet. He's listening to the syllables and saying the words himself. |
During
writing, they each have the sílabas
sheet with all the syllables. When they are writing, they use it as a
guide. I have come to like this sheet a
lot because, they not only use it to write the correct syllables, but it also
teaches them some vocabulary words that they may not have know before.

I love how my students benefit from working with the Sílabas musicales! What's more, they REALLY enjoy them and have made them better writers and spellers!
